Playmaking

DRPG Film

Client: Barratt Redrow

Barratt Redrow’s Playmaking hero film was created to champion one powerful belief: play is for everybody. Designed as the lead asset for a wider campaign on inclusive play, the film shines a light on Barratt Redrow’s commitment to creating play spaces that welcome children of all abilities, including those with physical disabilities, wheelchair users, and children with non-visible or sensory-related needs.

At the heart of the film is a celebration of imagination, empathy, and accessibility. A group of mixed-ability children are invited to dream up what the play area of the future could look like, sharing ideas that are joyful, surreal and wonderfully unfiltered. Their concepts are brought to life through charming hand-drawn sketch animations, creating a storybook world that captures the freedom and excitement of childhood play. As the children’s conversations deepen, the film gently shifts to explore what inclusion really means, asking how play can feel safe, welcoming and accessible for children who find movement difficult or who can feel overwhelmed by noise and bright lights. Their thoughtful reflections become the emotional core of the story, expressed in a simple truth: “everyone should get to play, even if they’re different.” The film’s purpose is to spark meaningful conversation and position inclusive play not as an aspiration, but as something that can be designed, built and experienced by all.
