Someone Special To Me

The Coronavirus pandemic has turned the world upside down and affected everyone, especially those coming to terms with the death of a loved one.

In normal times, this can be an overwhelming experience, but due to the many restrictions in place, this has become even harder.

Many individuals find death a difficult subject to explain to children. What helps children is the opportunity to say goodbye, and this is difficult if they have been unable to visit their loved one when they were ill, or even attend their funeral. Children are left with many uncertainties, fears and difficult issues and often find these very hard to talk about, especially to another close family member or friend. It is important that they have the opportunity to say goodbye.

The Hospice asked us to create a short animation aimed at helping children come to terms with bereavement complicated by the restrictions imposed during the pandemic. When this project came about, we were happy to work with them in creating an animation on such an important subject.

The animation needed to be easy for children to understand whilst giving ideas to parents so a child can express their feelings and emotions.
